National Society of Black Engineers
Don joined the National Society of Black Engineers' (NSBE's) World Headquarters team in 2008 and is the Director of Corporate Relations. He serves as strategic advisor to the Executive Director, National Executive Board and other NSBE Leaders to assure the stewardship of NSBE’s supporters and sponsors. He assists in the management of NSBE's operations and implementation of fundraising policies and procedures. He leads the charge of developing new business while furthering existing agreements.
Prior to joining NSBE, Don was Manager of Major Markets at Broadview Networks, a New York, cloud-based technology company. While at Broadview, Don centered his efforts on the sale of software and hardware to meet operational needs of the private sector. In particular, his responsibility was communicating value proposition and market strategy to key strategic partners. Prior to this time, Don had extensive history in telecommunications sales, namely at AT&T where he received numerous awards for sales performance including President's Circle. Key partnerships included the AFL-CIO, Nissan, and Texas Instruments. He began his career in an Engineering Rotation Program and as a mechanical engineer at Motorola.
Don J. Nelson received his Masters of Business Administration in Information Technology from the University of Dallas where he served as President of Sigma Iota Epsilon Honor Society, and Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University
